Here's something that has always puzzled me for 4 years... the compressed graphics in the Streets of Rage games. I've also recently found out how to find compressed art locations.

Thanks to guides for Pancakes, I at least know where the compressed art offsets for the enemies are located. My doubts about editing compressed art have now been mitigated, once I started using The Sega Data Compressor.



I was expecting the Galsia/Donovan graphics to MissingNo. out, but to my surprise, that didn't happen!



I can link to an IPS with this experiment applied if you'd like.

Apparently, SOR1's font is located at 23A69A. It's also loaded into VRAM at the Sega Logo. The M and T letters from the font are used instead of the TM tiles from the Sega Logo.

I tried to inject BKIII Electra over SOR3 Electra, but failed miserably.

Upon further inspection, it appears that some of SOR3 Electra's tiles are arranged differently from BKIII Electra, so you can't just copy & paste BKIII Electra's compressed art over to a SOR3 ROM and vice versa.
